American Airlines 300 aircraft extended to Internet service





American Airlines will extend the Internet service that offers in-flight WiFi to another 300 aircraft to attract passengers with the promise of additional benefits.
The company said it would install the service over the next two years in the U.S. fleet MD-80 and Boeing 737-800, and will begin this year with 150 MD-80 aircraft.
American Airlines began offering its Internet service last year to 15 Boeing 767-200 passengers on certain routes.
Airlines are competing to have reliable Internet access on its flights, with the hope of gaining a competitive advantage in an industry weakened. Read full
